As of January 14th, I now go by 'Durianne' instead of 'Missdurianne'! My old name came from my old social media handles. I went by MissDurian in some places, and Durianne in others. When it came time to pick a shop name, I thought it would be easiest to combine them. As time passed, I realized I resonated most with just 'Durianne', and the combo of the new year and my birthday seemed like the perfect time to make a change.I want 2025 to be the year where I just go for it and make the things I've been sitting on a reality.And yet, this resolution I had been planning was met with the tragic recent events in my hometown of Los Angeles. I'm in a weird place. I find my momentum is clashing with my emotions and grief. I want to let this moment transform my progress into that of one diligent step at a time. For myself as an artist, small business owner, and individual, that means negotiating the balance between work and the emotional.For now, for today, this starts with just changing my name, reopening my shops, and starting to change my look.I hope over the rest of the year that you stick by to see my growth as Durianne!
